Another sunny Sunday

This morning I took advantage of the beautiful sunny and warm weather outside and washed my car. I have been meaning to wash it for more than two months. I needed to clean the interior of the car as well. Thus, I armed myself with soap, sponge, disinfectant spray and the water hose and started to work.

My son would have liked to help me, but given he was down with fever for two days, I had to refused his kind offer. He said it was not fair that only daddy got to play with water or the hose. I felt bad for him. I know how much fun he had last summer when he was helping me wash the car.

It bet it was not much fun this time, when he had to stay inside. I saw him watching me from the living room window. He stood there the entire time, playing with his two yellow trucks.

Once I was done cleaning, I parked it on the other side of the street, in the sun. I was hoping it would help drying the interior faster.

In the evening we were supposed to go have dinner with my parents, and the seats had to be dried by then. My wife asked me not to scrub the fabric on the seats, but I wanted to get rid of the coffee stains. She mentioned that I might have to blow dry the seats in case the sun wouldn’t help. She has a good sense of humour.

Though, between you and me, I did picture myself trying to dry the seats with her blow dryer. It wasn’t fun. Plus you probably know how much it hurts to admit to your wife that you were wrong and she was right.

Anyway, I was lucky that the sun worked in my favour. Thus, we had no problem using the car and driving all the way to my mom’s house. There we spent a few hours listening to my younger brother talking about his new storage business. Honestly, I don’t think I was actually listening. It was more of a nodding my head and humming a half “yeah” from time to time. I had my own things to worry about. I didn’t give a damn about his storage montreal or the one in Quebec.

As far as I was concerned, all that counted for me was that he was happy with his new investment. I did not care about the details.
